Does God want you to be rich? A Holy Controversy

Time is running an article this week on the Prosperity Message being preached across pulpits all around the world. It is an interesting read. Just click on the advertisement to read online to avoid paying.

Lakewood is Joel Osteen’s Church, one of the leading Marketplace churches in America.Joel is amongst the most influencial evangelical pastor (my personal assessment). I listen to his podcast regularly from iTunes. (Search “Joel Osteen” on Podcast directory). Other Pastors noteable in this area of preaching includes John Avanzini (Biblical Economics) Ed Silvoso, Phil Pringle and Kong Hee, our very own Senior Pastor @ City Harvest.

Rick Warren (concept of Pyro Marketing), author of The Purpose Driven Life, has something else to say.

The article gives insight on what is being preached our pulpits. It appears very objective on my first glance. An excellent piece of work on the literary scale for beginners on this relevant aspect of Christianity.

I am a proponent of the Prosperity Message and I see in this article of the other valuable views. Interesting. Especially Rick Warren’s view. Worth the time going through it. : )

It’s between going through the eye of a needle if I’m a camel and the “life more abundantly.” Or is it?

Day 2 S2006

Day 1 was so much better than I expected:

1. Lunch and Dinner at Hotel’s staff canteen (which looked more like a lounge)
The only hotel that is providing free food for volunteers!

2. 4 offs instead of 2. Won’t miss CG and Service! Only missing today’s lesson for the whole of 2 weeks!

3. NUS counterparts were not as… as we thought they might. I think we make a great team.

4. Our military IC is called Hadi. Lol.

5. Our environment (with couches and free internet) means I might be able catch up with some of my tutorials when I’m free there. Haha.

Went to meet my cell at Swensons’ after the shift.

Gladys, Yang and I went to avenge for Steve before going home. Ordered the largest stingray:

Come to think of it… MAYBE Steve will not be happy with us eating his murderer’s clan from wherever he is now. After all… he was an environmentalist. If that’s the case… we should breed more stingrays and release them into the ocean?

But more Steves will be stung, wouldn’t it? Something deep to think about.
